# Privacy Policy Draft

This draft is for product planning and counsel review. It must be reviewed before public launch.

## What Leftovers Does

Leftovers helps users turn fridge items, leftovers, and kitchen notes into meal ideas, reheating suggestions, use-first reminders, and optional AI-assisted photo guesses.

## Information We May Collect

- Account information such as email address if accounts are enabled.
- Subscription and purchase status from app stores or payment processors.
- Fridge text entered by the user.
- Voice transcripts if the user uses voice input.
- Photos uploaded for fridge or leftover analysis.
- App usage events such as scan count, feature use, errors, device type, and subscription state.
- Affiliate, referral, and campaign identifiers.
- Support messages and feedback.

## How We Use Information

- Generate meal ideas and reheating suggestions.
- Guess likely visible food items when photo mode is used.
- Track free AI scans and paid entitlements.
- Improve app reliability and product decisions.
- Process subscriptions, refunds, and support.
- Track affiliate commissions and campaign performance.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and excessive automated usage.

## AI Processing

If AI features are enabled, user text, confirmed items, mode settings, and uploaded photos may be sent to an AI service provider to generate suggestions. Photo mode is confirm-first: guesses are not guaranteed and users must confirm items before using them.

## Food, Health, And Safety

Leftovers does not determine whether food is safe. Leftovers does not provide medical, nutrition, allergy, or dietetic advice. Users should discard questionable food and consult qualified professionals for medical or dietary questions.

## Payments

Payments may be handled by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another payment processor. Leftovers should not store full payment card details directly.

## Affiliate Tracking

If a user arrives from an affiliate or referral link, we may store referral identifiers to attribute commissions.

## Retention

Launch recommendation:

- Keep account and purchase records while the account is active.
- Keep scan counts and entitlement state while needed to operate the app.
- Delete or anonymize uploaded photos after analysis unless the user saves them.
- Keep support and transaction records as needed for legal, tax, fraud, and support purposes.

## User Choices

Users should be able to:

- Delete saved fridge items where saved storage exists.
- Request account deletion where accounts exist.
- Avoid photo mode.
- Avoid AI mode by using free rule-based suggestions.
- Manage subscriptions through the relevant app store or payment processor.

## Children

Leftovers should not be directed to children under 13. If the app is used in a family context, adults remain responsible for food, health, and safety decisions.

## Contact

Add final business contact email before launch.
